Why Marathon is called so?
In 490 BC, a Battle of Marathons had took place between the Greeks and Persians. The Greeks won this battle. To announce the message of Greek Victory, a Greek messenger Pheidippides was sent to Athens. He ran the entire distance from the battlefield to Athens exclaiming "We Have Won" in Greek language and collpased and died. The marathon name comes from this legend. Year 2010 marks the 2500 anniversary of Marathon.

What is reed warbler ?
They are small, insectivorous passeriform birds. Reed warbler is "the world's least known bird species" declared in 2007 by world's least known bird species by BirdLife International. Its first specimen was discovered in India in 1867, with more than a century elapsing before a second discovery of a single bird in Thailand in 2006. Earlier there was only one name warbler was given to them and assigned scientific name Acrocephalus, now separated in marsh- and tree-warbler family Acrocephalidae.
in January 2010, researchers for the Wildlife Conservation Society have discovered the breeding area of the large-billed reed warbler at Wakhan Corridor of the Pamir Mountains of north-eastern Afghanistan.
